Monuments Park

The Heroes Monument in the park located in front of St. Nicholas Church in Târgu Neamț, was built in 1926, in honor of the local heroes who fell in the Great War for the Unification of the Nation between 1916 and 1919.

The Heroes Monument is built of stone, with an architecture specific to the commemorative monuments from the two world wars in Romania, with three marble slabs applied on the facade and on the sides of the monument.

After the Second World War, in the same park was erected a monument dedicated to Soviet soldiers who fell in the fighting in the area of Târgu Neamț, in the summer of 1944.

In addition to the red monument, the tombstones hide the remains of known or unknown heroes who lost their lives.
