„Veronica Micle” Memorial House
There is no other name that is so well associated with the national poet Mihai Eminescu as that of the writer Veronica Micle. In the old center of Târgu Neamţ there is the „Veronica Micle” memorial house, restored according to the original plan and arranged as a museum in 1984. Here, visitors can find photocopies, manuscripts, books and personal belongings of the poet.
„Mihai Sadoveanu” Memorial House
In Vânători-Neamţ, near Neamț Monastery there is the house where the writer Mihai Sadoveanu lived between 1944 and 1961. He wrote eight novels here, among which „Nada Florilor” or „Nicoară Potcoavă”. Few people know that, initially, this building was an archival palace and belonged to the Archbishop of Bukovina until 1947. After the Revolution (1989), the house was returned to the church, and now the museum is managed by the monks.
